Investing in the Wild Rivers Coast

Every community deserves a place to gather, learn, create, and celebrate.

The Wild Rivers Performing Arts and Civic Center is more than a new building. It’s an investment in the people, culture, and future of the Wild Rivers Coast.

Designed to serve more than 50,000 residents throughout Del Norte County, Curry County, and neighboring Tribal communities, the Center will expand educational opportunities, strengthen the local economy, celebrate arts and culture, and provide a resilient gathering place for generations to come.

Why the Wild Rivers Coast?

A Region Ready for Opportunity

The Wild Rivers Coast is known for its natural beauty, resilient communities, and rich cultural heritage. Yet for generations, students, families, artists, and community organizations have lacked access to a professional quality regional venue that reflects the talent and potential of this area.

Many performances, conferences, and cultural events simply pass our region by, requiring residents to travel hours for experiences that should be available close to home.

The Wild Rivers Performing Arts and Civic Center helps close that gap, creating opportunities that strengthen the region while honoring everything that makes this community unique.

Students

Inspiring the Next Generation

Students are at the heart of this project.

The Center will provide professional quality spaces for music, theater, dance, educational workshops, guest artists, graduation ceremonies, and student performances—giving young people opportunities to learn, create, and grow in a space designed for their potential.

It also builds on years of educational programming already supported by Partnership for the Performing Arts, expanding access to the arts for future generations.

Arts & Culture

Celebrating Creativity

The arts bring people together in ways few things can.

The Center will welcome local performers, touring artists, community theater productions, concerts, cultural celebrations, film screenings, and educational programs—all under one roof.

By expanding access to live performances and creative experiences, the Center strengthens the cultural life of the entire region.

Economy

Strengthening the Regional Economy

Thriving communities invest in places where people want to gather.

The Center is expected to attract thousands of visitors each year, supporting local restaurants, hotels, retailers, and small businesses while creating new opportunities for conferences, performances, and community events.

Research estimates musical performances alone could generate nearly $1.9 million annually while supporting more than 55 regional jobs, creating lasting economic benefits throughout the Wild Rivers Coast.

Community

Bringing Communities Together

The Center is designed to serve everyone.

  • School performances
  • Community celebrations
  • Business conferences
  • Nonprofit events
  • Public meetings
  • Tribal gatherings
  • Family activities

More than a performance venue, it will become a shared community space where people from across the region come together to learn, connect, and celebrate.

Resilience

Built to Protect

The Wild Rivers Coast understands the importance of planning for the future.

Located outside the tsunami inundation zone, the Center is designed to support community resilience by providing space for emergency communications, public information meetings, disaster coordination, and community response when needed.

By serving both everyday community life and times of emergency, the Center becomes an investment in the region’s long-term safety and well-being.

Regional Impact

Serving the Wild Rivers Coast

This project reaches far beyond a single community.

The Center is designed to serve residents throughout:

  • Crescent City
  • Smith River
  • Klamath
  • Brookings
  • Harbor
  • Gold Beach
  • Del Norte County
  • Curry County
  • Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation
  • Elk Valley Rancheria

Together, these communities represent more than 50,000 residents connected by shared opportunities, partnerships, and a commitment to strengthening the Wild Rivers Coast.

Creating Opportunities for Generations

The Wild Rivers Performing Arts and Civic Center is about more than today’s needs.

It’s about creating opportunities for the next generation of students, artists, educators, businesses, families, and community leaders.

Together, we’re building a place where learning, creativity, culture, and community can thrive for decades to come.
